eBook Profits: Hard to Come by without a Business Strategy
eBook entrepreneurs come into the niche believing the “hype and spin” that the Internet Marketing gurus dish about instant profits.</p>
“Just buy another secret, and you can retire without working,” the gurus say.
But, you have to work to make money, and you need a business strategy to provide value to your customers.
A case in point: a comparison of various offers for a product called the PLR Monster Article Package.
The PLR Monster Article Package is a collection of 15,000 articles that you can do anything you want with.
Some also offer resell rights to the sales page and graphics, but, you can already sell a PLR article, claim copyright, rewrite…do anything that you desire with it.
So, what is this eBook business model comparison about?
And don’t ever buy a product like this the first time you see it.
Why? Because you can “find it cheaper” elsewhere!
Here are some examples: see for yourself.
The Online Selling Game offers the product as an affiliate product, where you receive 100% commission for every other copy that you sell.
This works out to a 50% commission, but prevents you from collecting on the first product, if you buy that for yourself. Of course, before you recommend the product, you should try it yourself.
Then there is the low-cost model…
PLR Monster Article Pack sells the same product for $4.95.
Master Resale Rights offers to sell the product at wholesale for $4.99.
Resale Enterprises focuses upon the sales letter, and tries to sell the product for $7.99.
Scott Advertising tries to convince you that the product is a bargain at $13.80.
Another strategy to sell this product is to use it as a bonus to sell videos that are going for $12.00.
Yet another scheme, give the entire product away to the first five buyers, then give away free samples…
The product is even available in Europe for only ten Euros at the TRMSLAN Shop.
It is also difficult to figure out how the purchasers of this product are making any money on its sale.
And SuperMan Marketing sells the same product for a whopping $14.95!
For example, the Dime Sale approach, where the price rises by $00.10 (ten cents) each sale increased from $7.20 to $7.40 in two days. That would indicate two sales totaling $14.50. Not something that would buy a large pizza, as one marketer put it.
As for the Dime Sale at Scott Enterprises, the price failed to rise in two days, so that must mean that there were no sales. Besides, Scott Enterprises promises only 400 sales, and their Website states that they have sold only 48. That would indicate that the original starting price was $8.00, that the last selling price was $12.70 and that total sales for the 48 copies was $496.80. We have no idea how long it took to reach those 48 sales, although it is clear that no sales were made this past weekend.
Consider the possibilities that will open up for you when you develop an eBook business strategy.
Also consider your customers.
The biggest problem with selling downloadable PLR packages is that some sellers require that customers download individual packages. Your goal is to make the download as easy as possible, meaning, downloading large bundles of PLR products at one time.
The reason that eBook entrepreneurs are tempted to purchase PLR articles is that articles take a long time to write.
But, the folks that sell PLR articles would have you believe that you can make money with these articles by just editing them a tiny bit, or worse, just running an “”article Spinner” software that changes the article.
This might seem great until you read what the “Article Spinner” software did to the article. Then you realize that human readers scan a few sentences before selecting the browser “Back Button,” leaving your site for good.
If the Internet Marketing gurus spend more money on the sales letter than they do on most of the products that they create, isn’t it safe to assume that you must spend a lot of time on the content of your Web pages so that your visitors stay with the page?
With PLR Articles, you can do whatever you want with them. This means that you can turn them into…
- Information products that you can sell, use as a Cross Promotion, use as an Up Sell or a Down Sell
- Products that you can use as Opt-in Bribes, Bonuses or other Marketing Campaigns
- Free reports that you can use to attract clients and customers
- Viral reports that you can allow others to re brand
- Bonuses that can be used to sell, or pre sell Affiliate Products
- Resell Rights products or other Private Label Rights products
- A one-time sale, or Fire Sale package
- Products that are available for free or paid membership sites
- Paper and Ink Books that you publish and sell in bookstores
So, there are a lot of eBook profit strategies that can make use of PLR Article Packages, but selling low-cost, generic, anybody who pays under $5.00 can have a copy packages will not pay for your time in cataloging the collection.
Figure out what you will do with a package of PLR articles. Then, maybe with an eBook business strategy, you will make a profit when your competitors don’t.
